Minimum Wage (CA)
The minimum hourly wage paid to all nonexempt (weekly paid) staff, including part time, temporary, and limited service employees, is regulated by the federal Department of Labor, the state Departments of Labor and applicable local agencies. The University pays its nonexempt (weekly paid) staff the higher of the applicable federal, state or local minimum wage. Currently, the federal minimum wage is set at $7.25 per hour.
The California minimum wage is $16.50 per hour. The minimum wage for the City of San Francisco is currently $18.67. Other local jurisdictions have local minimum wage ordinances.
